What takes us from average to exceeding

Monday, September 6th, 2010

My Friends,
What takes us from average to exceeding? What unlocks your secret potential that you feel?
I was on the phone with an old friend yesterday and she said that she is as excited with her new job prospect as when she first entered business 30 years ago. A vision of the future really touched her inner person.
Let me give you one idea that will unlock a value you have. You are important by the mere fact that you exist on the earth. God could reach people. He could preach to people but He will not. He gets pleasure by seeing His redeemed do it. Your value to others is priceless. When the apostle Paul had lost all hope of life an Angel appeared to him with a purpose.

Acts 27:23
For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Friends, you have Caesars to speak to. They may look ordinary to you but God sees them as important people and you carry the life to them.

10 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU DIE… NUMBER 8: MONEY

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Dear Friends,

It’s hard to pick a top ten that affects everyone but I decided that money affects everyone so it should be in the top ten things to know before you die. WE PUT IT AT NUMBER 8. In the finance world we know that a teenager can become a millionaire if he just puts 5 dollars a week into an average investment consistently until age 65. That is the miracle of compound interest.

Does God have a miracle plan for your finances as well? The Barna study says that 96% of Christians do not tithe (10%) so only 4% believe God is intimately involved in their finances. Why is this real testing ground for people? Jesus said: WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS ALSO IS WHERE YOUR HEART IS. Did you know that OVER 2000 scriptures relate to money? Truly it is a revelation as much as heaven’s salvation or divine healing. It is wonderful that God causes increase in your personal wealth. Make it a quest to grasp how God and your money can be a mighty force on the earth and a positive eternal benefit to your future.

Proverbs 11:24
There is one who scatters, yet increases more;
And there is one who withholds more than is right,
But it leads to poverty. The generous soul will be made rich,
And he who waters will also be watered himself.”

Luke 6:38
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:21

FIND THE GOOD

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

FIND THE GOOD IN EVERY SITUATION. One of my great friends said this in a conversation and it really is a guiding light for people who dare to challenge life. I have just come off of 30 days of ministry in Argentina and my tennis game truly has suffered from it. My first day back on the court was so bad that my opponent was even feeling sorry for me. In the middle of this horrible display my mind was playing all sorts of games and I could even see myself shaking hands in defeat  After I went down in flames the first thing I asked myself was “what good came of it?” I laughed as the answer came. At least I did not hurt myself. Surviving without injury was my only consolation. You might not have much consolation in the challenge you’re facing today but find something to be grateful for.

If you can take this simple truth and practice it in every area of your life you will discover a world of opportunity that exist in this life.

Matthew 12:35
A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. A good man will search for the good in trouble and in people.

Enjoy the process of going through tough moments for looking for the good in them. After about 4 tennis matches I saw my game return and what looked lost was found. Keep giving yourself to your dream and each decision will make you a little smarter then when you began the journey.

Blessings ,

Greetings from Corrientes, Argentina!

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Greetings from Corrientes!

Yesterday, we had opportunity to spy out fields for a future mass campaign here in 2011. The pastors have received us well in this city.

The pastors tell us that there are maybe 20,000 believers in this city of 500,000 people. We are told the Argentine generals of faith are calling for a return to miracle mass evangelism! We ask why do you want us to come because we know of the great Argentinean evangelists? They respond telling us the harvest is still great and the country must return to its roots of miracle evangelism. They have heard of and seen the great miracles demonstrated in the campaigns in Chaco, Salta, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires.

We understand the great international vision and destiny of the Argentinians to reach back into the continent of Europe which gave Argentina its industrious immigrant population and the Gospel. Europe has 11 nations with less than 1% born again. Our role may be small, but we are a catalyst encouraging the people of this nation to GO and to believe that what Jesus did 2000 years ago He will do through them today!

Thank you for praying with us! Friends, we know you make this possible. Enjoy the picture of Pastor Dias, Co-evangelist Michael Lusk and Dr. Kevin.

We are grateful to Lusk World Outreach for their assistance in these campaigns. Check out their website.

Stay tuned for more updates from the road!

Vision for Corrientes

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

I am impressed by the faith of the leadership in Corrientes, Argentina!

Pastor Diez and Del Porto came 10 hours by car to bring us to their city. They mean business in reaching their city and we are compelled to check out the 500-year old city to see if we can help with their vision.

Unity is vital, and the pastors of the city demonstrate true interest, desire and readiness to mobilize their churches. They have the lowest number of Christians in their province of Argentina and one of the poorest regions. Their hospitality speaks of their belief that we can make a difference.

The need, unity, and hospitality are all speaking to us to make a mark in this province. We will step out in faith and make this a part of our upcoming list of events.

Thank you for your prayers.

Blessings,

Kevin

IS YOUR IMAGINATION TURNED ON?

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

Can you allow yourself to think beyond the current challenge to the joys of tomorrow’s dream?

Standing on the field of Salta valley in Northern Argentina we celebrate the victories before us today but my eyes go to the next city.

Mark 1:37 And when they had found him, they said unto him, All men seek for thee.
And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

It makes me laugh when I think of how to finish this event and meet every need before us as thousands gather, yet I sense the Lord as I lift my eyes to Mongolia where we will dedicate the beautiful yellow and white tent that stands waiting for the first major Evangelism in that country in 15 years.

It was the great sacrifice of a partner that made that tent possible for the nation in the shadows of China. A Buddhist people unseen but not unloved.

Our fight is not with devils, disease, lack, or people. It is a fight of faith to call forth all the resources of heaven to meet the needs of mankind. Our victory has a ripple effect of victories across the great expanse of the largest continent in the world where we have young evangelists who look to us as a role model for their work. If WE can do it then THEY can do it. Paul said:

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13

This is not a theory or a Bible study but a real experience to be lived and demonstrated on earth so all people may rise up with conviction in their heart that there are no limits in their life. There is no border they cannot cross and no ocean that can stop the good news to every creature.

Thank you for being a part of the Christian Adventure,

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THAT ?

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Life can be full of the unexpected… especially if you are on the road. A constant lesson that will keep you alive and happy is not what happens but our reaction to it. Yesterday’s mid flight mechanical failure that stopped our departure to Argentina, where thousands are waiting, is a good opportunity for a negative reaction. In a coffee cup conversation with Rev. Tidwell, he pointed out that even God can be shut down through wrong thinking. So it pays to find the right thought to deal with your problem.

In scripture, Mark 6 tells the story of how the home town of Jesus shut him down even though he really wanted to hit a home run in helping them. He shook his head and marveled at their unbelief. Even though He just had a string of supernatural miracles from turning water into wine to raising the dead, He was handicapped to helping a few people with headaches. Not exactly what He wanted for the hometown crowd but the Bible says He could not, He could not, He could not do any miracles there. Why not? They did not think He could. He was a nobody, a carpenter’s son, a hometown boy.

What you think is what will limit you? Jesus paid in full the price for a wonderful full abundant life for you (John 10:10) and His presence guarantees it. I keep my eyes on His presence as life surprises me and think of the answer that is always there for every situation.

The Spiritual Athlete!

Friday, March 5th, 2010

The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear? Prov 18:14 AMP

Developing a strong spirit should be the daily workout routine of the Christian. How do we go about this? Before I arise in the morning I already have the word of God playing. Often I will switch my player on in the wee hours of the morning just to get my spirit energized with faith and hope. In the quiet moments I hear thoughts that penetrate my sleep and cause me to meditate on areas of my life that I need to correct. Often these are gentle urges from the Spirit of God that help keep my conscience clear and strengthen my heart or confidence before the Lord.

I remember meeting a young man who was an incredibly fit athlete. He was a cross country cyclist and a runner. His body was lean and tight. Yet, something was not right. To his surprise he found a tumor on his body. The doctors of course reacted and pushed him to the brink with fear. We had the opportunity to pray for him and even though the tumor had shrunk considerably in size the doctors continued to push him to have surgery. When they operated they found no trace of the tumor. Yet, the surgery was so invasive he could no longer do the things he loved. What happened? Fear forced him into a decision that cost him severely. His spirit was not exercised in the things of God and when the day of adversity came his spirit was not strong enough to sustain him.

In a day when people are facing bankruptcy, job loss and strange illnesses we must first consider our spirits and strengthen the most important muscle we have in our bodies - OUR SPIRITUAL MUSCLE! It’s not complicated it just requires attention. I submit to you that it is much like physical exercise. You don’t necessarily like it when you begin but after you’ve been on that treadmill for 10 or 20 minutes your body experiences a release of pent up tension and negativity. Spending time in the word initially may not be as fun as watching your favorite television program but as you stick with it you will discover a wellspring of life. A new strength will arise from your midst invigorating you and providing you with strength you did not realize you have.

So what’s the motto - do what it takes at all costs to strengthen your spirit. Become a Spiritual Athlete and be a winner in the marathon of life!

BUILD A DREAM FOR THE DAY OF DIFFICULTY

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Life is not a static experience. It flows like a river with many a bend in the course. This is good news for those who have tried to step out into the stream and are experienced in navigating the turns. But for the many who have lost their footing on the water this is the time to build for the future.

The Bible gives a story of a young boy named David who on the outside seemed insignificant but on the inside he had built an image of victory with conquest unseen to others over bears and tigers. When he heard what the king was willing to do for the man who would defeat Goliath he asked that it be repeated.

1 Sam 17:25, 26 “The men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel. And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

David was sparked by the picture of victory over Goliath. His imagination was stirred to see that there is a reward for effort and his past victories. His pure heart, and clear conscious gave him real confidence to face the new challenge. The king’s words sparked the picture of success that was within reach. Today, allow the king’s words found in scripture to spark a picture of your future and then go out and face your giant.

Blessings,

Kevin

LOAD TIED TO LABORER

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Discovering the key to an increase in life is of great interest for all who want more out of life or who want to do more with their life. We saw that God daily loads us with benefits (Ps 68:19) but how do we connect with those benefits if they are coming to us? The answer is found in Jesus’ own words in Matthew 9:36:

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

To increase the flow of Heaven to you there first must be a flow of Heaven through you.

Jesus was a need-meeter. When He woke up each morning He was confronted by need all day long as He walked the roads of Israel. He did not shy away from the need but tapped into Heaven to answer it. He was moved by compassion toward people. He was not a professional religious person interested in His group but He walked among the hurting and healed. What stirs you? What touches you? What moves you to act?

He saw people as sheep without direction, without sure footing falling into every ditch by the road. His solution was not more priests. He needed people who could labor. A laborer is a person who connects the source of supply to the need before him. God is the source of supply. The world is full of needy people.

Jesus said to pray for a connector to put the two together. When I cut my rows of hedges it takes days to do it by hand with a clipper but when I use my chain saw it can be done in a few hours. The chain saw is designed to do the job. It wants to do the job. It will do the job but first it must have power. It must be connected to a power source. My extension cord is what connects the unlimited electricity source with the able chain saw. Without the extension cord I can have all the power I need in my house but still no results.

We are the extension cord for God’s power to flow through. We are His representatives. We are His voice, His hands, His feet to the needy world. God cannot use His mighty power to meet every need without us. He has decided on the parameters that His power is released. He has tied His plans to the believers.

Your success is His success. The power that is in the extension cord is latent power until it is tied to the saw. When the cord is plugged into the need then you see results. The trees and hedges are trimmed.

The key: INCREASE YOUR OUTFLOW AND YOU WILL INCREASE YOUR INFLOW. We get ours when we give to others. Our increase is tied to others’ increase.

Today my prayer is for us to flow in this release of blessing to meet the needs of humanity.

Blessings,
