HARMONY OR HIT AND MISS
If Jesus is to be our leader then what can we learn from his source of inspiration that could inspire us?
Even though He was God, He kept a harmonious relationship with God the Father. This was the source of His direction. John 8:28
Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”
Jesus walked in great dignity and confidence because he knew He was in Connection with the unseen Father.
He picked up his Father’s signals. We now have opportunity to listen through the static. Leaders need to be good listeners. The challenge is picking up the signals in you of the voice of your spirit. With so many voices vying for attention it is a real test.
When we were traveling in the far East near the Sea of Japan, the missionaries wanted us to leave our luggage in the car while we ate. Leslie had a very uneasy feeling that thieves would attempt a robbery but the local missionaries insisted it was safe and we were wrong. Within 5 minutes we both felt uneasy and as I went to check the car I was stopped by a gang. I knew then that a robbery was in process so I ran to the car and chased them off but they had enough time to steal the video camera. God did try to protect our stuff but we let people who were out of tune direct us. It was a costly lesson. Maybe the greatest provocation to prayer is the opportunity to harmonize our thoughts with God’s thoughts. Prayer is not a task or ritual but a walk in the park to clear your mind and find the mind of Christ on the matters that concern your life.
Lead through this valuable tool…
Blessings,
Kevin
